recently viewed items, like.com

Like.com has a small module underneath their left nav that shows tiny thumbnails of my recently viewed shoes. It also has a link to “view all items in LikeList” that prompts you to log in or register, and then goes to a page that shows all these shoes. This seems to be a pretty appealing way of encouraging users to register.

neat account creation page

I really enjoyed the mint.com account creation page.

Here’s why:

1. It gave me feedback as I was working through it (filling out each field correctly was “rewarded” with a green OK icon).

2. Unobtrusive marketing text on the right — it didn’t feel overwhelming, but I could have read it if I really cared.

3. Simple and light look and feel.

sign-in page, emusic

I like the combined sign-in/sign-up model. There are many examples of it out there (I think Amazon may have started this approach, but I’m not sure), but the big login arrows on emusic are the cutest.
